Meet Georgie Wisen-Vincent, LMFT RPT-S

Georgie is a play therapist, parenting consultant, speaker, and mom.

Almost two decades ago, I took a leap of faith. Fresh out of my graduate training in family therapy, I left my job as a hardcore child behaviorist and packed my bags for an entirely new way of understanding children. Learning how to be a child-centered play therapist meant letting go of rigid behavioral models of thinking and making space for kids to feel seen, cared for, and deeply understood.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time tapping into the research on child development, parent-infant attachment, early childhood trauma, and new insights from the neuroscience, to find out how we raise successful kids who can weather adversity and keep sailing through. Increasingly, studies are pointing to what every parent needs to know - but what nobody teaches us how to do - and that’s play. It is our greatest untapped resource for raising focused, balanced, innovative, and resilient people.

Based on this current research and thousands of hours of playing with kids, I’ve boiled it down to a few specific strategies that are expertly tailored to the way children’s brains develop from the bottom up. With these simple tricks up your sleeve, you can grow closer than ever with your child and teach life-long skills they are going to need in our rapidly changing times - innovation, emotional balance, self discipline, empathy, and grit.

Imagine actually enjoying playing with your child - because you can see the immediate benefits. Better listening, more cooperation, fewer behavioral struggles, less fighting, smoother transitions, easier routines. I’m thrilled to share these exciting and easy tips with you to create a haven at home - happier, more harmonious family time awaits you!
